The Association’s announcement of 23 May 2025 gave individual players the option of shorts or skorts while retaining team consistency in colour and design. This is an established change, not a new September 2026 announcement. For a kit officer, the useful consequence is a different purchasing form, not a prediction that every player will choose shorts.

Ask each player to select the garment they want to try before collecting final sizes. Use separate columns for garment type, sample size tried, confirmed order size and quantity. Do not infer preference from age, an earlier order or the majority response. A player’s choice and a supplier’s available size are different pieces of information.

Where the squad is still deciding, request a fitting stage before submitting a fixed bulk breakdown. Mark unconfirmed allocations clearly in the buyer’s internal worksheet, but remove unresolved entries from the final production release. This prevents a provisional preference list becoming an accidental purchase instruction.

Teammates need not wear the same item, provided the items have the same colour and similar design. Give shorts and skorts their own style references. For shorts, describe the waistband, rise, inseam, leg opening and intended underlayer arrangement. For a skort proposal, identify the outer layer and inner short separately, including attachment, coverage and leg finish. Ask the proposed supplier which constructions it can actually sample; do not assume every teamwear factory offers both.

Create one colour reference sheet that shows both garments alongside the existing jersey and socks. Ask how the chosen materials will be matched, especially if the outer skort and short body use different fabrics. Approve physical combinations rather than accepting two unrelated screen renderings as a coordinated kit.

Separate appearance approval from fit approval. A sample can match the team colours yet fit poorly, or fit well with the wrong trim. Record those decisions in separate fields so a colour correction does not silently replace an already accepted pattern or waistband.

The sponsorship code specifies the Camogie Association crest on the front of the jersey and the front of the skort or shorts, on the same side. It also describes a sponsor position on the lower garment opposite that crest, within an officially approved arrangement. Collect approved artwork through the rights holder or authorised supply route. Do not recreate an Association mark or treat a downloaded logo as evidence of permission. Use a sample allocation sheet that distinguishes garment type from letter size. A medium short and a medium skort may have different waist construction, hip allowance and coverage. Ask for finished-garment measurements and a measurement diagram for each style, then retain the actual sample reference against the player’s selection.

Invite players to assess the proposed garment during normal, supervised training movements. Record practical comments about waistband movement, restriction, inner-short placement and coverage without publishing personal body information. If a player changes garment type after fitting, reconfirm the size instead of transferring the old entry automatically. For a revised sample, highlight which pattern or material changed and which players need another check. Avoid asking the factory to interpret a chain of contradictory messages from individual squad members.

Release quantities as separate style-and-size totals. The packing list should distinguish shorts from skorts even when their colour and letter size are identical. If the club wants player-level packs, use an agreed allocation identifier and keep the personal roster with the club. Check the total pieces against the approved order before dispatch.

Agree spare quantities for each option with the club rather than using one combined spare pool. Record how a later switch between garment types will be handled, including whether a new fit check, different minimum or fresh sample is needed.
